- Isn't the 32 M RAM requirement a bit excessive? Do you realise how much
- that RAM will cost someone, as well as the grand or so for a complete NT
- package?
-
- Let's see. The last time I bought RAM for an upgrade, I bought 4 M at a
- Best Buy(tm) and it cost me $350 or so. Let's suppose I mail-ordered it
- for a mere $200 instead.
-
- Starting with a computer with a mere 4M in it, I want to upgrade to NT
- (for the example only!). I would need to buy 28 M at $50/M
-
- That's $1,400 for the RAM. Now, you need the software, the NT of course.
- That's $400 for a bare-bones crippled NT. Need server software? Add
- another $400 or so.
-
- I hope your PC has a PCI motherboard, as that's another $150 or so, not
- including the CPU.
-
- That Pentium's slow, eh? Add another $500 for a faster chip!
-
- See how EXPEN$IVE NT becomes? If I could afford NT, I'd get a car
- instead!
